Thanks, Laurent. I thought Higgins's article was excellent. I feel sorry for Rota because I think he was likely gamed and was indeed one of those who was ignorant of the context. But this ignorance is a societal problem that makes us very vulnerable to people who are not ignorant but rather like Nazism. And Gould's suggestion to erase the record belongs in Canada 1984.

You are right that it's naive to believe that Canada doesn't have a covert inter-generational positive emotional attachment to Nazism.
